An exploration of two controversial cultural allies- punk music and feminism- as seen in the Life and Liberty feature The Punk Singer, which focuses on Kathleen Hanna of Le Tigre and Bikini Kill. We will be joined by NPR music critic Ann Powers (who’s featured in the film), University of Alabama professor and filmmaker Rachel Raimist (Nobody Knows My Name), and Jacklyn Hamric of Substrate Radio.
